Morning Routine – 07 Protein Breakfast

My default breakfast for a long time now has been three eggs, usually soft boiled. Occasionally, I’d have sardines packed in olive oil (King Oscar’s come to mind) instead. And that’s it.

I like a protein based breakfast as it aids muscle recovery, especially after early morning work outs and it keeps me satiated. Keeps the monkey brain from reaching for the cookies laid out in the meeting room. In that sense, it is a great tool for weight-control or body re-composition efforts.

Having a default breakfast that is easy to prepare also helps reduce use of mental RAM in the morning, saving it for other decisions during the day at work or when it really matters.

With this post, it’s a wrap to my ideal start to the day. Now here’s the great thing, if I could do just three out of the seven, it’s a win for me. Keep the barrier to success low so you don’t end up beating yourself up for failing and avoid showing up to the rest. The important thing is to keep at it, one day at a time.
